Frequently Asked Questions
Where are the prints made?
All prints are created directly on glacier meltwater, out on the ice itself. The ink I use is non-toxic and made from vegetable soot, held safely inside a floating frame that never touches or harms the glacier. Each series comes from a different outlet in Iceland, shaped by the water and weather of that specific place. In the future, the project may travel to other glaciers around the world, following meltwater wherever it still flows.
Is every print unique?
Yes. Each piece exists only once. The patterns form and disappear within seconds on the meltwater, and there is no way to recreate them with the same technique. Every print carries its own irregularities, shaped by wind, hand, and time. Each artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity and a serial number to confirm its origin. There are no copies.
How long does shipping take?
I work and live in a remote part of Iceland, where time moves differently and the weather decides much of the rhythm. Reaching the post office isn’t always simple, and deliveries can take up to two weeks or longer depending on your location. Because of this, I announce the next planned shipping date on the site. This is slow art, made slowly and sent slowly, and delivery reflects that.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. I accept private commissions, including larger formats beyond A5 and A4. If you have a specific request or an idea you want to explore, feel free to reach out. It may take time to create, but it can be arranged. It’s always worth asking.
